Boon Siew Honda introduced its latest colour variant for its best- in-class 250cc twin-cylinder supersport motorcycle – The Honda CBR250RR. The new variant – Trico Edition, further strengthens the character of Honda CBR250RR which was designed by staying true with Total Control, a DNA of CBR series of superior performance, futuristic along with an aggressive speedy shape.
The legendary Tricolour combination has become an icon for decades as a representation of the power of Honda's racing technology. Inspired by the racing spirit, the Tricolour is applied to a variety of high-performance Honda motorcycles, including now the Honda CBR250RR.
Launched in 2020, the Honda CBR250RR is equipped with a 250cc twin-cylinder DOHC 8-valve engine that can produce a maximum power of 30 kW @13,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 25 Nm @11,000 rpm. It set a new standard by embedding the Quick Shifter feature for the first time on a 250cc twin-cylinder motorcycle in Malaysia. Equipped with 2-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Quick Shifter, the CBR250RR provides a greater level of braking confidence and comfort to its riders.

All New Honda GL1800 Gold Wing
The Honda GL1800 Gold Wing, since its introduction has always represented the ultimate in two-wheeled travel, creating an enduring and unrivalled reputation for luxury, quality and comfort. For 2021, the new Honda GL1800 Gold Wing offers improvements on usability and comfort with increased carrying capacity, improved pillion comfort and an audio upgrade.
Some of the highlights are:
*Ample luggage capacity for weekend touring; the volume of top box increases by 11L to become 61L, improving usability.
*New suede/synthetic leather seats, more relaxed pillion back rest angle, improving the comfort of passenger.
*Superior audio with newly upgraded, lightweight speakers achieving superb sound quality with vivid presence.*Added Android Auto™ compatibility along with already-in-use Apple CarPlay™ improving convenience and connectivity.
At the heart of the Gold Wing lies a liquid-cooled, 1833cc, 4-stroke, SOHC 24-valve,
horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine delivering a peak power of 93kW @ 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 170Nm @ 4,500rpm.
The engine and chassis were designed in unison, to move the riding position forward and create a much more compact motorcycle. The aluminium beam frame is constructed around a double wishbone front fork, which allows the engine to sit forward in the machine – as the front wheel moves up and down in a more vertical plane – while providing high quality suspension control and front-end stability thanks to its stiffness and reduced friction. Suspension damping adjusts electrically.
All lighting is LED and the Gold Wing is also equipped with dual LED fog lights. The lower portion of the headlights use 5 polished optical lenses on both sides to create a Jewel-Eye low beam light signature. The front indicators are housed in the mirrors and the indicators also auto-cancel; the system compares front and rear wheel speed difference and calculates when to cancel the indication relative to the riding situation.
Optimised for size, the 24V flat six-cylinder engine provides an avalanche of torque and addictive power delivery. The braking system uses electronically controlled combined ABS, which is a Dual Combined Brake System (D-CBS) that optimizes the distribution of braking force to the front and rear wheels, plus an ABS system. Throttle By Wire (TBW) engine management brings with it 4 rider modes to alter character and power delivery, linked to suspension damping and the D-CBS:
TOUR mode is the base setting for comfort and power. It gives a direct 100% opening ratio between throttle grip and throttle body butterfly, with ‘default’ damping and front/rear brake force distribution.
SPORT serves up the highest throttle to butterfly ratio and delivers strong acceleration, with firmer damping and rear brake lever pressure.
ECON mode offers maximum fuel economy and easy cruising, with lower throttle to butterfly ratio and default damping and brake force.
RAIN turns the dial down to suit wet and slippery conditions, with lowest throttle to butterfly ratio, default braking force distribution and soft suspension damping.
Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Idling Stop offer ease of use and improved fuel efficiency.
Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) maintains rear wheel traction. Featuring 7-speeds DCT, with clutch feel, shift speed and rpm range of up/downshifts tailored specifically to each riding mode. It also features a ‘creep’ forward and back function. The manual machine employs the same electric reverse system as featured on previous designs.
The ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) combines the generator and starter motor into one component, with the generator effectively becoming the starter motor when supplied with reverse power. Key characteristics of Idling Stop are the ultra-quiet start-up of the engine thanks to the use of ISG, and the smooth starting feeling achieved through a combination of DCT and TBW control.
The Gold Wing offers a total sense of freedom, with sheer riding enjoyment and performance matched by stylish design. For 2021, the comfort and convenience of the bike is particularly focused. The rear top box volume increases by 11L to become 61L, enabling you an uninterrupted touring experience. An aerodynamically efficient fairing channels air around the rider, while the extended electric screen adjusts for preference; the seats, too provide all-day comfort and, for 2021 feature a new suede/synthetic leather cover. The angle of the pillion back rest is also changed from 17° to 24.5°, for more relaxed seating.
2021 version also gets upgraded speakers, showing off vivid sound quality for a luxurious experience for your every ride. And features like Smart Key operation, Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™ and Bluetooth™ add modern-day convenience and connectivity.
The 2021 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing is exclusively available in Pearl Glare White at RM210,888.00.
